What are the benefits of doing yoga?
People tend to get many different things out of yoga, depending on their personality and the type(s) of yoga they practice. An Asana (Pose) Yoga practice in particular promotes good cardiovascular health, muscular toning, flexibility, core strength, balance, and a healthy body image/weight. People who practice this type of yoga also report an increased ability to focus, reduced stress levels, and better sleep.
Do I need to be flexible to do yoga?
Flexibility is NOT a prerequisite for starting a yoga practice. Flexibility will develop as your practice grows.
